Organizational Involvement. LGT
Automotive and Transportation Group professionals are current on industry trends through an active
involvement in several associations. We’re proud to be endorsed
by the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. Since 1916, TADA has been
the voice of Texas’ franchised
dealers. The organization represents the dealer body before the Texas
Legislature, Congress, and regulatory agencies. It also provides members
with business and educational services. We are also involved with Auto
Team America (ATA) and the Leading Edge Alliance (LEA) Automotive Special
Interest Group.
Bob Cumberworth, CPA. Cumberworth serves as the Partner
in charge of the LGT Automotive and Transportation Group. With over 30 years of experience, Cumberworth
has served as both an outside CPA and in-house controller for automotive
dealerships across the Southwest. Over the years, he has been active
in promoting dealer causes with the IRS.
Collin Kanelakos, CPA. Collin joined LGT in 2000 and has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting. Working with automotive dealerships throughout the Southwest, Collin serves as an audit principal for many of the Firm’s dealership clients. His responsibilities include project management for audit and accounting engagements, as well as compliance auditing. Collin plans and supervises the staff on engagements, reviews field work and prepares/reviews financial statements.
Preston Byrd, CPA. Since he began serving the automotive industry in 1994, Preston has served as an outside CPA working with a variety of clients, and as an office manager/ asst. controller for two automotive dealerships groups. He routinely provides tax planning and preparation services for dealerships and owners, and has utilized various strategies unique to the automotive and transportation industry to help dealers defer and minimize taxes. He is involved with operational consulting matters including performing cash flow analysis, internal accounting and operational control reviews, expense control, improving profitability, and computer system utilization.
